After more than 20 years as Open Heart Magic, we decided it was time for a name that could do a better job introducing us to people who had never heard of our work before.
“Open Heart Magic” had a long history with us, but it could also send people in the wrong direction. We heard assumptions about cardiac care and heart conditions, even though our Volunteer Specialists work with kids facing all kinds of medical situations.
That’s where Bring Magic to Kids in Hospitals came in.
The new name is more direct. It gives you a pretty good idea of who we are before you even visit our website.
But the story behind the change is bigger than a new name.
In our founder video, Michael shares what led us here, what we learned along the way and why this change feels important for where Bring Magic is headed next.
The organization itself isn’t becoming something new. We’re continuing the same work, with the same people, Volunteer Specialists and commitment to kids and families in hospitals.
What we’re changing is how we introduce that work.
And with a name that’s easier to understand, we’re hoping a lot more people find their way to us.
More people discovering the work. More ways to get involved. More places to bring the magic.
